Though he has spent the majority of his business career as a film and television producer and writer Ron never dreamed he’d become an ETA until just over a year ago. Upon encouragement of his wife Lois (after singing a couple of songs to her at an empty Karaoke bar on their honeymoon), Ron sang his first song as "Elvis" in front of thousands of fans at Collingwood 2003. The crowds reaction was amazing! Both awe struck after the performance, the loving couple thought "maybe God has a plan here". From that point Ron began to perform in several venues, which included a sold out concert entitled ‘Songs In The Key of Elvis’© at the Whitby Courthouse Theatre, won the title "Classic Champion" at Kingfest 2004 in just his 3rd competition, performed several concerts & benefits and went on to record a CD! He made quite the vocal impression in Collingwood 2004, receiving the attention of not only the crowds, but the media and LLM's Carol Hunter. Ron knows he may look nothing like Elvis, but he believes the good Lord has blessed him with a gift of voice and making people happy just listening to him. |
