The search for Evis ‘99 is over, Shawn Barry has won the Lady Luck Quebec Nationals for a second straight year. He is the first repeat champ. It was a squeaker as Elvis Gauthier put on an amazing performance forcing a song-off for the judges to determine a winner. Mike Alexander was third technically tied with Steve Rosati, the best suitless Elvis by far, Johnny Aaron never performed in the final although he did a showcase last week, he was in a car accident and had to wear a brace which made it impossible for him to wear his suit. Johnny Casino, another strong contender, fell sick on the weekend leaving his supporters disappointed. Sterling, from New York, put on a fantastic show on his first time out, very electrifying, I hope he will be back. Shawn Rowan made the elimination round which pleased him. William Maurice’s personality was magic as he passed on the torch to the younger Elvises. I just received some more pics and I will scan them early this week.
