So aptly called “The magic Of Elvis”,  this show certainly enthralled the  huge audience who came out to be entertained by 10 of Ontario’s liveliest ETAs .  In support of the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre & the Ajax-Pickering Navy League Sea Cadets, the entertainers each gave a high energy  performance amid a very special light show, making it easy for everyone to have a great time, which in turn, triggered fond memories of Elvis on stage!  And on that note, we have to mention that if there was anyone in the crowd who wasn’t an Elvis fan when they came in, ended up an Elvis fan when they left!  Pictured above are (L to R) Bob Attwell (Evolution Entertainment), Clint Lucier, Mike Calamusa (2nd), Eddy Prince, Adam Scott  (1st), Rick Duin, Jeff Marsh, James Gibb, Jon Cigan (3rd) & Doug McKenzie, thanking the crowd for attending the show.   We invite you to share some of the excitement by looking at the pics on this page, which range from stage shots to  behind-the-scenes fun and a brief description of the performances,  showing  the camaraderie and sheer enjoyment of the event.  Many thanks to Bob Attwell & his staff of Evolution Entertainment, we look forward to your 2nd annual!  Happy viewing friends!
Folks were pleasantly surprised to  hear Doug McKenzie from Stratford up on stage performing his tribute to Elvis.  A familiar face as an amazing Roy Orbison tribute artist, some thought he had left the “Elvis” scene, concentrating solely on his “Roy”.  Not so said Doug - the contest scene is a rough one, and only practice makes perfect, so he had been working very hard on  his vocals as an ETA.  Behind the scenes he said “Well, we’ll see if practice will make the difference”.... and boy oh boy, it sure did, as Doug got a fantastic reaction to his performance!  He also had fun on the stage and did a super job talking to the crowd.  Good job Doug, thanks for coming out! dougmckenzie1076@rogers.com
Atta boy Clint!  The man from Paris is looking good, still shy as ever, but has managed to capture a little more of that Elvisy character with each performance he does.  Clint has a wonderful sense of humour, yet only brings a bit of it to the stage - just enough to let folks know he has one, yet making sure he maintains a certain respect for Elvis while paying his tribute.  When I ask him why he is so “reserved” on stage, Clint answers me “ Geeze Jo, I dunno, guess it’s my nerves” - HA!  Clint, you’re a doll, you do a fantastic job and you don’t have to be that nervous, folks love you!  Thanks for taking part in the show!  clearshot@hotmail.com
Niagara Falls’ Eddy Prince never disappoints his audience.  He’s always moving, mingling with the crowd, jumping and rocking all over the hall.  This kid seems to have a hidden extra cache of energy in his blue suede shoes!  He also seems to attract the “Red Hatters” to each show and boy do they love it when Eddy pays them that little extra attention.  Eddy did a great job on his vocals too, with no laryngitis to bog him down (he’s had a rough winter with colds) he sailed effortlessly the evening and delivered a terrific performance.  Always a pleasure to have you join us Eddy, thanks a bunch!  Eddy@eddieprince.com
Well it didn’t take the young man from Oakville any time at all to capture the hearts of the audience.   It’s only the second time Adam Scott has appeared in an LLM’s Peoples Choice and both times he’s taken home an award.  Folks at this show crowned him the 1st place winner and rightly so!  Adam was totally exciting and spent most of his performing time in the audience, beckoning their participation.  He got them clapping, singing along and grooving in their seats - and - his “Clark Gable” smile as I call it, wins the gals over every time!  Super performance Adam, congratulations once again!  adamscott@elvisinconcert.ca
He’s the new kid in town - James Gibb from Harrow was introduced to the world of the tribute artist at the 2006 Windsor Elvis Fest.   He caught the attention of many with his obvious “early Elvis look”,  and when it came time to perform, folks were pretty pleased with his voice and moves.  Well, James had the same effect on the Ajax crowd who were thrilled with his performance - and - the ladies gave him an extra special round of applause just for letting them catch a glimpse of his dimples!  You  put on a great show James, thanks for joining us!  jamesgibb@sympatico.ca
Mikey does it again!  Seems like every Peoples Choice audience from Mississauga to Montreal feels Mike should receive an award - that’s probably because he puts on one heck of a show!  Getting plenty of stage practice with his group “Mike E & The Hound Dogs”, he’s very comfortable with any audience and belts out his songs, smiles at everyone and really gets the crowd in the mood for a good time.  Depth , feeling and the love of entertaining is why Mike  received a 2nd place  “Legend Of The King” award.  Congratulations Mike & thanks!  mcal@bellnet.ca
He’s getting ready for his 2nd annual King Of Kitchener Festival this September and couldn’t be happier - so he told the crowd, who seemed to be familiar with Jeff Marsh’s 2006 event.  But he wasn’t at the production end of a competition this time, he was a participant who did a mighty fine job at that!  A few jokes to warm up the audience, a few good songs to sing and a stage presence that with the special effects and fantastic light show we were treated to, helped to create the illusion of watching a set right out of an Elvis concert.  Nice job on your performance Jeff, thanks!  memories_of_elvis@yahoo.com
Way to go Johnny!  Jon improves every single time he appears on a stage.  He’s got the voice, he’s got the style and he just keeps on getting better!  Everyone shares that same feeling, we all have said what a joy  he is to listen to and what a heck of a nice guy he is.  Jon is from Pickering, but rarely works in town - as an ETA that is - so folks who know Jon couldn’t wait to come out to see him perform.   And though the friends  were there to cheer him on,  Jon did one heck of a job impressing the rest of the audience with his smooth vocals.  He worked the room very well and still managed to turn the ladies’ heads with  that boyish charm.  All kidding aside, this crowd was so impressed by Jon, that they voted him 3rd place winner of the “Graceland Award”.  Bravo Jon, thanks for taking part in the show!  love_me_tender65@hotmail.com

Rick Duin
Anthony Von

The DJ/ETA/Costume designer from London really knows how to “do it right” and keep the people happy.  Certainly very comfortable performing the 50’s, Movies or 70’s era, Rick is known for having fun when he’s on stage and I think the audience can sense that in an entertainer.  A very good voice and gentle manner also endears him to the crowd and as for behind the scenes?  Well, you’ll just have to pop in the dressing room one show and find out for yourselves - just knock before you enter and get ready for a whole lot laughs - oh and folks, we’re talking clean fun, don’t get the wrong idea!   Keep ‘em laughin’ Rick, thanks for your talent!  Duinitright@rogers.com
The Magic of Elvis filled the room! The contest was simply amazing, it ran smoothly, the lights were fantastic, each artist had done a super job and the entire audience was at the edge of their seats waiting to see if the ETA they had voted for, would be crowned champ. But the crowd wouldn't be left restless while ballots were being counted - the non-stop "Elvis" momentum had to be kept up and it was time to bring out the evening's guest entertainer - Anthony Von. Anthony performed a special 40 minute show beginning with a 50's set covering the early years of Elvis' hits and some movie tunes, and spent some time joking around with the audience. Then with barely enough time for his costume change, while the 2001 theme played and laser lights cut through the smoke filled stage, Anthony returned in a white jumpsuit singing a collection of hits from the 70's era complete with a Can't Help Falling In Love With You & outro - and the intro of our contestants back to the stage as winners were announced. Thanks Anthony. anthonyvon@sympatico.ca

Tarie MacDonald
The beautiful Tarie Macdonald added a touch of class to the event as Marilyn Monroe and put smiles on quite a few people’s faces as she sang Happy Birthday Mr President to Mr. Alan Sloan, president of the Ajax/Pickering Navy League Branch that night! We’ve seen Tarie perform at quite a few LLM events lately, she’s even scheduled to come to Montreal, and there’s an audience who seems pretty happy about that. Thanks for making another event extra special Tarie - From LLM & Evolution Entertainment!
