Starring Roy Leblanc, held at the Westmount Mall, London Ontario
It wasn’t just the huge audience and ETA fans who had a great time at London’s Westmount Shopping Centre. The ETA’s enjoyed themselves, too and they took the time to pose for some extra photos showing the camaraderie and sheer enjoyment of the event! We invite you to share some of the excitement by looking at the pics on this page, which range from a great shot of the ETA’s lined along a staircase, with host Roy LeBlanc in the forefront – to the change room shenanigans and behind-the-scenes fun and a brief description of the performance of the ETAs who participated in London’s 1st Annual People’s Choice. Thank you to Roy Leblanc, Rhonda Hanley from the mall, the fans who attended the event and most of all - thank you to the ETAs who entertained them! Happy viewing!
Having Fun At Westmount Mall
Collingwood 50’s Grand Champ, the “Canadian Flash” did it again - wowed the crowd to the max and in turn, those fans voted him their number one, favourite ETA! Shon may not have had the biggest stage to dance on, but it certainly didn’t deter him from creating a pocket full of action smack dab in the middle of the onlookers! The crowd around the sides of the cordoned off area began to gather quickly, just to catch a glimpse of his gyrating movements and with straining necks, people started whistling, screaming and clapping as he unleashed an unbelievable energetic performance. Keep on rockin’ Shon!
David has sure come a long way quickly in the Elvis entertainment “world”, winning contest after contest within two years and today was no exception. He reminded these folks of the “Southern Gent” side of Elvis as he softly spoke, introducing the songs he was to sing and explaining the meaning behind them. Of course living in the South for the past decade and spending his “off time” singing Gospel tunes with his wife and family, makes it easier to express his passion for the Gospel side of Elvis’ music on stage. David does it well, the fans really appreciate his style of entertaining and they voted him a beautiful second place, to show him how much they love him! Well done David! david@aknightstribute.com
Hey Hey Danny! Londoners came out to support their local young friend and as a nice surprise to all, others who watched Danny perform thought enough of his show to vote him in third place! He certainly had a lot of energy and felt right at home with the audience, which as he claims, is different from other times on a stage - where he is a bundle of nerves. We’ve been watching Danny grow as an ETA and though he’s still got a few hurdles to overcome, he’s a good student and is eager and willing to accept advise from his peers. The young man with a good look has a bright future in store! dangranger@yahoo.com
Will was looking mighty fine in his GI suit, in fact, he earned the ” bells and whistles” award from six ladies in the front row - No folks, we didn’t invent this award, it came from the “happy camper” gals who took it upon themselves to write this down on their ballot sheets - so we thought it was certainly worth the mention! It sure is wonderful to see the reaction from the crowd when they take to an ETA, and Will never seems to miss enjoying that reaction - he gets it all the time. Wonderful performance Will, good luck with all your future shows in and around Ontario. wganzon@cogeco.ca
He always seems to capture people’s attention whether he’s doing a 50’s song or a 60’s song - and it really doesn’t matter which outfit he wears, because he looks good in them all! It’s great to see Bruce on any stage, having fun with the audience and picking fun songs to sing is the main part of his show and getting the crowd’s participation has become a habit! Here in London, most folks were seeing Bruce for the first time, but it didn’t take them long to discover what Bruce’s “habit” was and within the first few bars of his first song - the people and Bruce were one in the same show! son1@rogers.com
It was the first time we’d met this new Canadian ETA from Yugoslavia , who now resides in London and works at Ford. What a pleasant man, a little shy and understandably so, but certainly appreciative of the opportunity to sing the songs of his idol, Elvis. He’s got a good look and personality, the audience made him feel very welcome to the stage and encouraged him by applauding his performance. Paul hasn’t been performing for a long time, but we all thought with a little help from his peers and a little more exposure to the contest scene, he could do just fine! Nice meeting you and thanks for joining us Paul. alexismnagy@sympatico.ca
Oh ya - Clint and his fantastic funny personality - All the little things that could go wrong concerning background tracks or tech stuff can happen anytime - and a couple of minor things did in London - but thanks to his good nature, any incident will keep folks smiling from the start of his performance to the end. Except for when he is singing, that is - then things take on a more serious tone and his audience will sit back and take a real good listen. Clint did a wonderful job and we could hear the fans in the background commenting on his cute face - which he always gets a good chuckle from - theluciers@rogers.com
Bob is an absolute joy to watch entertaining his audience. He truly has a knack of making everyone happy - he’s a man born to be on the stage! Fortunate enough to be living and performing eight months out of the year in Barbados, he still comes back to Brantford to perform in our summer festivals and says he “enjoys our weather....”. In meeting Bob and his lovely wife Marilyn for the first time in London, I thought them to be the most charming couple I’d met in some time. Bob performed “Fame & Fortune” in a tux for an added “touch of class” and brought with him a little puppet (which he gave to a child) when he sang “Puppet On A String”. Very nice entertaining Bob, thank you. hajas@cariaccess.com
Hello there folks - another strong singer with a pretty smooth way of entertaining his audience made his way to the stage - actually, he had drawn the “first up” which doesn’t make any ETA too happy, but Wayne rolled with the flow and still managed to make a few jaws in the crowd - drop. We love to see Wayne, he’s one of the ETAs who’s always got an interesting story to tell ( behind the scenes , that is) and make us all laugh. Wayne walked around, which was hard to do in such a tight space, he gave out the scarves and sang the “make you melt” songs for the ladies and was very well received by the people. Nice work Wayne, see you again soon - wcreeden@sympatico.ca
