It was THE show of Champions indeed and everyone revelled in the energetic performances of each artist! The warm and friendly ambiance of Sunday afternoon’s event was enhanced by the spectacular light show provided by Evolution Entertainment. Doors opened at noon and folks got right into the pre-Elvis-festival mood by checking out the Elvis vendor’s merchandise and anticipating a win of one of the Elvis door prizes & special draws for beautiful Elvis collector plates, from LLM’s new collection of gifts. “My boy, my boy” as the man said...........did we have fun!!
April 20 - on this beautiful sunny day, it was obvious that spring had definitely sprung in the hearts and minds of the overly joyous audience. The flashes were a flashing, the video cams a filming and Elvis fans enjoyed the opportunity to meet each other again to catch up, after a very long winter!
Lady Luck Music’s ‘Peoples Choice Of Champions’ was held in support of a very special cause, the Alzheimer Society Of Durham Region. And, it was a complete success thanks to the Elvis fans from Ontario, Quebec & even parts of the US, who filled the large Sikorski Hall to capacity. We can’t believe it, you all said you would come out and you did! You are such kind people, we love you very much.
Among the Elvis fans who came out to show their support were well known Elvis Festival judges Nevin & Heather Grant and Wendy King from The King’s Court (thanks for the kind revue Wendy), Delcor Entertainment CEO Phyllis Deline, and the friends they encouraged to come with them. Thanks gang!
We’ve got many special thank-you’s to give out, such as to ASD director Joan Skelton for her promotional help; Brenda Davie from ASD who presented the winners with their trophies; Bill, Dave & Jocelyn from Wilson & Lee (ticket outlet); Terry Johnston of CKDO Radio; Oshawa This Week newspaper; Gord Kirby from Evolution Entertainment who took the photos, along with EE owner Bob Atwell & Derrik (Gord too) for the set production; Nora Cleavely, Tammy & Chantal Carroll, Lea Gauthier and Mario (spotlight) & Julie Pelleriti for working the door, ushering and ever so much more - we can’t thank you enough. Truly, I believe when you tell us - “that’s what friends are for”, you mean it.
To our special E-headliners, special guests and competing Champs - the talented performers who graced the stage with their wonderful talent - we thank you for your tributes - so Hail To The Entertainers you can see in the pictorial by clicking here.
God bless you all, we’ll meet up again this summer, so adios until then, Joanna
