Hello friends and welcome to the August Cortney's Corner! I will soon be on my way to Memphis for Elvis Week 2002! I'm very much looking forward to it, and can't wait to see all my friends and meet some new ETA's and fans too! :) This month I'm going to tell you a little about Terry Price. Read on, and enjoy!

Texas, Dallas Cowboys, Huston, heat, and TERRY PRICE- "The Klone Of Rock N' Roll"! Originally from Oklahoma, and now relocated to Bryan, Texas, Terry Price pays a wonderful tribute to Elvis Presley. Terry got his start by dressing as Elvis for a Halloween Costume contest at his place of employment at the time. A little reluctant at first, he decided to do it, and ended up winning!! He first sang at a variety show he was directing. The rest is history!!

I first seen Terry in Memphis, 2001. I didn't however get a chance to meet him in person until the Elvis In Dixieland Contest in Birmingham, Alabama June 15th & 16th 2002. I had talked with him via emails and through the ElvisPresleyTributeArtist yahoo group. Terry seemed like a VERY nice and REAL kinda guy in emails, and when I met him I found out that I was right in thinking that! He and his wife are great people!

Terry was a top 5 finalist in the contest in Birmingham, placing 4th overall. He put on a spectacular show! Terry gave me a scarf and CD after the show and graciously posed for a picture. We didnt think the picture would turn out, so after everyone had dinner at Dreamlands, Terry walked outside with us and posed for another. Thanks Terry!!! :)

Recently, Terry just wrapped up the role of Conrad Birdie in the stage production/musical "Bye Bye Birdie" he is currently auditioning for the role of "Curly" in "Oklahoma" Good Luck Terry!!!

If you ever get a chance to see Terry Price, please do so. You won't walk away dissappointed!

Thanks for reading, stay tuned next month for an article on an ETA out of CANADA!

1. What made you want to become an ETA?
The man was dynamic, from the minute I first saw him on TV singing his heart out, I wanted to be like him.

2. What is your main goal being an ETA?
To have as much fun as I possibly can. Of course I wanna keep his memory burnin in the minds of as many people as I can, but Lord have mercy, this is one heck of a fun job.

3. What are some of your favorite songs to perform?
I think that my Favorite has always been and will always be "Unchained Melody" closely followed by "Kentucky Rain", "Just Pretend" and "Suspicious Minds"

4. Where has or where would you like your show to take you?
I have been blessed enough to play all over the central states, but I would love to do Elvis in Europe and Austrailia.

5. Have you been to Memphis? If so what did that experience mean to you?
Oh man, the first time I ever went to Graceland it was like I had been there before, and in fact I had, through all the books and videos I had studied to learn more about Elvis and his life. It was almost like comin home. As an ETA you have a tendancy to really become close to Elvis and his surroundings because of all the studing that you have to do.

6. Have you attended Elvis Week?

I have had the pleasure of competing in the Images of the King contest last year during Elvis week. That was thrilling to say the least and was topped off by my making the finals. Even if they had told me I was dead last in the finals, in my mind I had already won. Elvis week has to been seen to be believed, words just don't describe the awesome feeling in Memphis at that time.

7. Have you ever considered throwing any "Non-Elvis" songs into a show?
I know alot of other guys have, and that is ok, but ya know....I really dont think I ever will, I am paying tribute to Elvis, and while it isn't wrong to do that, I am sticking to only the stuff he did, even though there are times I would love to do other stuff.

8. How do your family and friends feel about what you do?
In the beginning they all, except my wife, thought I was crazy and had no shame. Now, they are all, every single one of them, big fans. Ain't that something?

9. Have you met anyone that worked with or knew Elvis? If so, name a few.
Ya know, that is where I feel cheated, alot of my ETA buddies have gotten to meet some of Elvis' people, but I never have. In fact, I am not sure I have ever met a real celebrity period. I have lived a sheltered life. heh heh heh.

10. Have you made any new friends resulting from your tribute?
Oh my gosh yes. Every show I do, I make a new friend or two. Elvis has opened the way for me to make some really great friends, and has strengthened some of my old friendships, (they all became my first crew.) Not to mention all the great ETA friends I have such as David Lee, Reggie Randolph, Barry Humphries, John Loos, only to name just a few.

11. What era of Elvis do you like to portray?
All of them. I aint sayin I am the best at any one certain area, but I do try to do each justice.

12. What other interests/hobbies do you have?
Well, right now I am finding myself back in the fold of theatre. I came from a theater background and believe it or not through Elvis I have found my way back to it. I just finished a run as Conrad Birdie in the musical "Bye Bye Birdie" a show that is sort of a parody of Elvis' induction into the army. It was a great show and I am even now auditioning to play Curly in "Oklahoma".

13. Any Comments to the fans?
Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, and God bless you.
