“The world of Elvis Tribute Artists is a big one. Everyone has their own opinions on each artist. I myself, give them all credit for bringing memories back for the fans. In my case, being 17, I am too young to have seen or heard the real Elvis Presley. I enjoy watching the tribute artists re-create the moments everyone loved” ___________________________Cortney

Hello once again everyone, Happy Holidays, and Welcome to December’s edition
of Cortney’s Corner! This month I will be telling you about Quentin Flagg.

Quentin Flagg hails from a small town called Argos, Indiana. The town may be
small, but everyone knows and loves him. Quentin is just 17 years old but
has accomplished a lot! He has won contests, and placed in many others. If
you haven’t seen him yet, you are missing a great show.

When I first saw Quentin, I have to admit I wasn’t very fond of him. He was
“some blonde kid” as I called him, entering an Elvis contests, with some guys
who had been doing it for a long time. He ended up winning first place in
that contest, which was totally surprising. Over time, I got to know more
about him, and realized he wasn’t bad at all. We started actually being
friends in Memphis during Elvis Week 99’ and have been friends ever since.
Quentin does many shows around Indiana, and Michigan, and I try my best to
get to them all. I, along with other friends of ours, have been to a few big
shows and contests with Quentin and his family, who are all wonderful people.

For my 17th birthday, two friends of mine took me to Springfield, Illinois,
to a contest going on there at a Hilton Hotel. They set something up, and I
had a feeling they had something up there sleeve. After the contest, we went
to our room and they left then came back. Not even 5 minutes later there was
a knock at the door, they of course made me open it. Outside the door was
Quentin holding a birthday cake with lit candles, and with him were his
parents, and Matt King, another tribute artist. They came in and sang happy
birthday to me, I blew out the candles, and I heard “Crank It”. All of a
sudden, “Shake Your Bon Bon” by Ricky Martin came on, and Quentin sang it and
danced to it for me for my birthday. (It is one of my favorite songs he
performs). I must say that was quite embarassing, but was something I’ll
always remember.

We went with our friend Melissa to see Ricky Martin in concert in July, and
it was awesome! We all shook our bon bon’s! Q and I had a blast in Memphis
this past August, we hung out just about everyday. We had so much fun, and
hopefully we’ll get to party with all our friends again next year.

Just recently, in Portage Indiana, I had a bad night, and I was upset and
crying. Quentin was there for me and helped me out to the best of his
ability, and I couldn’t be anymore thankful to have him as a friend. He has
been there for me through a lot, and is always willing to listen to me, and
help out. He and his parents are so nice to me, and I am thankful to have
them all as friends.

Quentin, thanks for being such a great friend. And thanks for finally
sending Joanna your tape!! =)

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my favorite tribute artist, and great
friend, Quentin Flagg. If you have never seen his show, try and do so, you
won’t regret it!
