“The world of Elvis Tribute Artists is a big one. Everyone has their own opinions on each artist. I myself, give them all credit for bringing memories back for the fans. In my case, being 17, I am too young to have seen or heard the real Elvis Presley. I enjoy watching the tribute artists re-create the moments everyone loved” Cortney

Hello once again, and welcome to Cortney's Corner. I really hope you are all enjoying reading my experiences with the different tribute artists. I will be attending Portage Indiana's Elvis FANtasy Fest in a few weeks, and will have new pictures of me and some of the different artists. This month I want to tell you a little about Jamie Aaron Kelley. I first met Jamie in 1997. He was at the contest my mom put on here in South Bend, Indiana. At that time I was a major Rob Hunter fan, so I’d seen Jamie as competition to Rob. That of course I didn't like. Jamie got out there for the pre-lims and was just awesome! He was even better in the finals, and ended up taking first place. I am always completely honest, so I will tell you I was very unhappy. I wanted either Rob Hunter or Travis Morris to win. I then saw Jamie a few other places, including Portage Indiana, and realized he wasn't bad at all. I sat in on Jamie's world record setting performance one night in Memphis in 1999. For those who don't know, Jamie Aaron Kelley set a world record by singing not one, not 20, but ALL of Elvis's songs. He did this at the Hot Rod Diner in Memphis, TN during Elvis Week 1999. My encounters with Jamie have been few, but I have recently started talking to him every so often, and he's really a nice guy. I do have a new opinion on Jamie, he is one of my favorites now. Hopefully I will see him more often at other events. I hope you all get the chance to see Jamie sometime, he's great! Thank you all for stopping by Cortney's Corner. Until next time, keep rockin' and keep T.C.B'ing!! The picture is of Jamie and I in Portage Indiana.
