Hello again friends! Welcome back to those returning readers of Cortney's Corner, and a brand new welcome to any new readers! Summer has come and gone for sure, and fall is setting in. The weather here in Indiana has cooled off drastically in the past week, they say it'll warm up again next week! I hope this month's story finds everyone in good health and doing great. On to the story, this month, David Lee!

I first heard about David Lee, as I hear of most of the ETA's, through the internet. I heard a lot about him, and what a wonderful entertainer he was. The first time I seen David perform was at the EEN Convention in June 2001. At the time I didn't really know him and didn't get a chance to really talk to him and introduce myself. After that convention I had been in contact a few times with his wife Tara through emails. I was anxiously awaiting Memphis, where I'd get to meet and talk with David & Tara.

Memphis came, and we all went to the Overton Park Shell for the Jamie Aaron Kelley & Friends show. I got to hear David sing two songs there, and he was awesome! David was pre-qualified for the Images Of The King Contest, and sang on Friday night, but I didn't get to see it because of being at another function. I heard he was great and some said they had chills when he sang! What an impact!

I did get to talk to David at the contest. It was great meeting him and Tara. One night after the contest, I went to eat with David & Tara, John Loos, and another lady we met in Memphis. We had others in our group when we started which consisted of Paul Ross & His wife Stacey, and Rick Lenzi and his wife. We all got seperated and ended up at different places, which led us to our adventure at Krystal's! We waited in the drive-thru line for what seemed like forever, and then they were out of some of the things we had wanted to order! It was interesting without a doubt, and I think looking back we all get a laugh out of it!

I have seen David since Memphis & the experience at Krystal's. He and Tara made the trip to LaCrosse, WI to the Elvis Explosion contest September 7th & 8th. David put 110% into his performance there, and when it came time to announce the winners....David walked away with the first place trophy! Way to go David!! He had the crowd amazed when he sang "America The Beauitful" after being named the winner. Another added touch was him letting each of the ETA's on stage with him sing a part of the song. The crowd loved it!

It's been great getting to know David, and I hope to get to see him and Tara more often now. If you haven't seen David perform, don't pass up the chance to do so.
