Shawn Klush - Faces of Elvis Show, Myrtle Beach, Dec. 28, 2006
I saw Shawn in Myrtle Beach, SC on December 28 at the “Faces of Elvis Show” (on my 62nd birthday). We had front row seats and man what a show. When Shawn came out on the stage, I thought I had died and gone to heaven, because there, standing in front of me, was my life long idol, Elvis Presley. I started listening to Elvis way back in 1955. I joined the military in 1961 until 1965. I was assigned to the military police. After I got out of the service I went into private security, never dreaming at the time that it would cause me to one day meet Elvis in person. It was announced that Elvis was coming to Atlanta for 3 concerts a the Omni, April 30, May 1, and May 2, 1975. I went to my supervisor and told him I wanted to work all three concerts. My supervisor told me he was putting me on the work list. I swear my insides were going crazy. April 30th finally arrived and I was one of the first security offices to show up. I knew that the ones that got there first got th best assignments. I was assigned to the stage area right at the back door where he would be coming in. When Elvis finally arrived, I was only about 5 feet away from him. He spoke to me and said Hello. He kinda nodded his head and then he haded for the stage. As soon as he passed me, I began to follow him along with his own personal bodyguards. I stayed at the back of the sage for the entire concert. On the next two nights I also arrived early and again got choice assignments. On the 2nd night before the concert began, I went up on the stage and got a co-worker to take a photo of me with Elvis’ guitar. Shawn has the same decorations on his guitar and is the only other person I have seen that has the karate logo. Shawn’s guitar appears to be a match to the one Elvis played on all three nights. Ever since that fateful day in l977, I save said many, many times there will never be another Elvis. That is, until I met Shawn in December. I swear, looking at him, almost put me in shock. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I have seen many Elvis impersonators over the years and some of them were pretty good, but none of them can hold a candle to Shawn to me. Shawn is like seeing Elvis re-incarnated. I say that because I had the honor of seeing Elvis up close, real close, two years in a row. The resemblance is uncanny, and the best part is that Shawn sounds like Elvis also. It is no wonder that Shawn has won so many awards. This was my first time seeing the New Elvis, Shawn Klush. I've seen probably 10 to 12 diffrent Elvis Impersonators in the last three years...Mostly at The Legends shows which tend to be pretty amazing. They always have some very talented performers...But none of them Even come close to matching Shawn's talent and close resemblance to the Real Elvis. Shawn is as close to Elvis as anyone I've ever seen. I've always heard that everyone has a twin somewhere in the world...Well, I have found Elvis' twin..(for sure)... Ken Kelly
