I attended the shows of "The Rise To Fame - The Faces of Elvis" at the Palace Theatre. I had the pleasure of seeing Shawn perform all week. He is well known for being "The Closest To The King" and he certainly lives up to that title. His voice, mannerisms, sensuality, humor. talent, dancing and humility of Elvis definitely shows in all his performances. I have know Shawn for 8 years and I know that he has great deal of love and respect for Elvis. His show on New Year's Eve was my personal favorite. He came on stage in the beautiful Aloha jumpsuit. Looking very much like Elvis from the hair all the way to the boots. He receives a standing ovation the minute he steps on stage. He starts out with See See Rider then breaks into Burning Love. By that time ladies of all ages was at the stage asking for a scarf and a kiss. Before he sung The Wonder of You I had the pleasure of placing a lei around his neck which in turn he gave me a scarf and a kiss. After a beautiful version of that song (the best I have ever heard) he then went into some Polk Salad Annie. Oh my goodness he can move on that song! Every move he makes is done to perfection as Elvis himself did. Shawn then started to sing A Little Less Conversation which had the crowd dancing in their seats. During the whole show he had to stop in between songs as he had so many ladies at the stage waiting for a scarf and a kiss from him as he so sweetly obliged. He later did Johnny Be Good as he had a lot of fun with the band on. Kentucky Rain was done so beautiful. Shawn certainly has a way of carrying out those notes just like Elvis did. Then we heard Suspicious Minds. A favorite of the audience because Shawn has such a great sense of humor and interacts so well with the crowd.

He slows things down just a bit and sings one of my favorites which is My Way. He also made the comment that it to was one of his favorites. The way he belts out the notes in that song will send chills up your back. He has such a powerful voice. Everyone was in such awe at his performance of that song you could hear a pin drop! As he belted out that last note he got yet another standing ovation. For his last song he dedicated the American Trilogy to Elvis Presley. Shawn did that song with great emotion and you could tell by the look on his face that he felt it in his heart. As the flag dropped in the background everyone was on their feet clapping and I seen several people with tears rolling down their face. For the finale Shawn then brought back the other performers which included Justin Shandor & Greg Miller to do Viva Las Vegas with audience participation. The show was over just minutes before midnight and after a short break the guys came back on stage as we all watched the countdown on the screens and brought in 2006 together. The cast then sung the New Year's song and then went into Good Times Rock -n- Roll which was so much fun. Several people from the audience including myself went on stage to dance with the entertainers. A great way to bring in the new year! It was a pleasure meeting Justin and Greg and talking with them. Thank you Justin for the dance. It was fun! You are a wonderful person with an awesome voice.
Shawn ~ Your performance and your tribute to Elvis was just incredible and done with so much respect and perfection. Thank you for everything. Thanks for putting a smile on my face and lasting memories in my head. I will cherish the time we spent together. Thank you for the kiss and hug at midnight. That was very special to me. Your friendship over the years has meant a lot to me. I know you enjoyed so much being back here and I enjoyed having you back. You hold a special place in my heart and you always will. Thank you not only for the special person that you are but thank you for being the BEST ETA in the world. I am so proud of you. You will always have my love and support as a fan and as a friend. Keep Rocking Klush! See you soon.
