Although the “Aloha from Hawaii” special was a huge influence on his life, it wasn’t until January 15th, ‘73 that Butch began impersonating Elvis Presley. He performed for family and friends, won his first talent contest in ‘76 at his high school in Little Rock Arkansas, then went on to participate in various competitions, and winning a look-a-like contest in ‘81. During Butch’s career in the US Air force, he had occasion to do a few TV spots in England and Romania, as well as the US, from ‘78 until his retirement in ‘94. But certainly, his career as an Elvis impersonator continued successfully and he entertained from Memphis to Vegas - with various charitable events in between. Butch’s other singing accomplishments include being choir director and member of Westside, Landmark and Sandia Baptist churches. He |
