Cortney’s Interview with Quentin Flagg

Surprise! I thought it’d be cool to add something interesting to “Cortney’s
Corner” this month, so I sent Quentin some interview questions, that he so
kindly took the time to answer. It gives you a little information from
Quentin himself on what his life as an ETA is like. Enjoy!

1) What has your experience as a Tribute Artist been like thus far?
It has been very entertaining in itself. I’ve met lots of people and also
I have seen lots of the country side. It is getting me closer to my goals
that I have set for myself for in the future.

2) Has anything really out of the ordinary ever happened during a show?
Well every once in a while something happens that either surprises me or
the audience. That is what keeps things interesting.

3) What is your favorite part about being a tribute artist?
Getting to meet new people and to be able to travel more of the country
and see new things. Seeing things for myself and not just on the
television.

4) Who are some of the other ETA’s you have had the chance to perform
with?
I have gotten the chance to work with many of the other guys. I would
like to take this oppurtunity to thank them for letting me be part of the
show and also a thank you for treating my family, friends, and myself very
nice.

5) Where (as in places) has your show taken you?
It has taken me all over the United States. It has taken me to places I
have always wanted to see. I hope that someday it will take me to other
places outside of the U.S. so my family and myself can see more of the
world.

6) What is your main goal when you get on the stage to perform?
Make the people happy, make my family happy, and of course make myself
happy. If I don’t make myself happy then I have a feeling I’m letting the
audience down. That is one of the last things I want to do.

7) What are some of your favorite songs to perform?
Well I love “Shake, Rattle, & Roll; Rock-A-Hula;” and one of my favorite
songs to perform is “Just Because.”

8) What is one of the best things a fan has ever done for you?
There is no one thing. All of the fans have supported me and my family
110%.

9) You have been to Memphis before, what is your favorite part about going
down during Elvis Week?
I get to see all of the people that I might not have seen in a while.
Meeting new people is always fun. Just hanging out with the other
entertainers is fun. My family and my friends go down there to hang out and
have a fun time.

10) What are some of the other songs you like to throw into your show, for
a little fun?
I do put in the song by Ricky Martin “Shake Your Bon Bon.” That is always
fun. I’m working on some other songs right at the moment.

11) How do your family and friends feel about what you do?
Well they are very supportive. My family I love so much because they are
always there for me. At first with my friends, I’ll have to be honest, I
found out who were my true friends. It wasn’t the most nicest stage I have
had to go through. I was called everything you could think of from A to Z.
My friends went and saw a show one time and they kinda understood what was
happening. My friends have come around and they treat me just like one of
the guys. So I would also like to thank them for being there for me.

12) You are a teenager, what kind of teenager things do you like to do?
Well I love to go and see movies. I love of course to listen to music. I
listen to about anything. Hanging out with my friends is always fun. I love
to cruise. I have probably put on tons of miles on the van just by
cruising. I like to play pool. I like to watch Indy car racing and I love
to watch WWF Wrestling!

13) Have you made any friends resulting from your tribute?
I have made lots of friends. I have made friends from other countries and
continents!

14) Have any big shows coming up?
Well I have some christmas parties coming up and also a show coming up
with Doug Church. There is one I do have to brag about. I really never do
this but I’m very proud of this one. I am getting my chance to sing at the
Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville Indiana on January 6th. That is the
place that got me hooked on being an entertainer. I saw a show there 3
years. ago with Trent Carlini doing his tribute to Elvis on his birthday. I
was messmorized by the way the show went and the way he did all the
different eras that Elvis himself went through. I told my parents that
night that sometime I will perform there and now I finally get my chance.
I’m sorry for bragging on here but I have reached a goal that I’m very
proud about.

15) Any comments or messages to fans/friends?:
I want to thank everybody that has come to a show. I hope to see you all
very soon. I’m working on a few new things. I hope to keep surprising you
with my shows. On behalf of my family and myself “God bless you and thank
you so much.”

16) No question here, just a comment. Thank you for answering the
questions. I’m sure everyone that stops by “Cortney’s Corner” will love
learning more about you from you, yourself. Keep Rockin’!
