“ Danish Anyone??? ”
We may refer to a breakfast danish in North America, but in Denmark they are referring to the hottest Elvis sensation, (Erling) King Memphis and his band. For the past six years, King Memphis has been rocking the house throughout Spain, Tunisia, Germany, Austria, Sweden and of course, Denmark. He received piano lessons at eight, his first guitar at fifteen and made his first “rock and roll” stage appearance. Elvis’ songs were instrumental in Erling’s decision to become a full fledged tribute artist in ‘79. His band broke up after two years and he toured Europe performing with background tapes for seven years. But in ‘94, he’d had enough and decided to get back with his 6 piece band the “Black Devils”, replace himself on keyboards, add a three piece brass section and three back up singers, and get up front and knock ‘em out! It’s hard work keeping such a large company together, but King Memphis wouldn’t have it any other way. He loves it!
